When logging into the Settings menu (GUI), the user name and password are not accepted. What can I do?

Log-in screen

You can access the log-in screen via your internet browser, such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Type the following address:

•    For the Sitecom LN-554 & LN-555 homeplugs: http://sitecom.plug.
•    For the Sitecom LN-521 & LN-531 homeplugs: 192.168.0.234.

The screen below will then be displayed.

Next to User name you then enter admin (in lower-case letters). The user name cannot be changed anywhere and always stays the same. The Password is set to the WPA2 code as standard. This can be found on the back label of the product (the sticker on the rear side) and also on the Info Flyer supplied. See the example below.

Important: the password is case-sensitive. This means that you must enter the password exactly as it is shown on the back label and on the Info Flyer. If you fail to do that, you will be unable to access the settings menu.

Difference between the network password and the settings menu (GUI) password

The network password and the password that is used to log in to the settings menu (GUI) are two different passwords. The network password is used when you wish to establish a wireless connection to the internet via your Wi-Fi Homeplug. The other password is used in order to log into the settings menu of your Wi-Fi Homeplug, in order to change the settings, for example.

Both passwords are identical by default and are the same as the WPA2 code that can be found on the back label and in the Info Flyer. If you change the network password, you must still use the original WPA2 code to log into the settings menu. The opposite is also true.

My user name and/or password are not accepted, which means that I am unable to log in

If you cannot log in, please check the following items:

•    Check carefully that you have not made any typing errors.
•    Make sure that all letters that are in the upper case have been entered correctly. Check also whether the Caps Lock is active - if it is, every letter you type will be in the upper case.
•    Always enter admin (the user name) in lower-case letters.
•    Check whether you are using the correct password (see above).

I have forgotten the password I use to log in. What can I do?

If you cannot remember the password, you will need to reset your Homeplug. This will undo all of the settings and you can then log in again using the original WPA2 code. If you reset your Wi-Fi Homeplug, you will need to install it once again and reconnect all of your devices to it. Click here for more information regarding the installation of your Wi-Fi Homeplug.
